Art League of Hilton Head & Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head Island Team Up For Another Collaborative Art Exhibit
SIDE BY SIDE: Monochrome Visions in Color on exhibit at Art League Academy October 21, 2024 to November 8, 2024.
Art League of Hilton Head and Lifelong Learning of Hilton Head Island are excited to announce another collaboration exhibit this coming October! The exhibit will have a “Side-by-side” theme of Monochrome Visions in Color where local photographers will submit a photograph, edited to black and white, and other artists will portray the same subject matter in their own medium, but in color. We will reveal the original photograph in color the evening of the reception next to the framed black and white image and the re-creation.
Recreations will be hung next to their inspirational photograph during an exhibit open from October 21 to November 10, 2024, from 10am to 2pm each day. A celebratory reception will be held on October 25, 2024, from 5 to 7pm. The reception will be free and open to the public. Attendees of the reception will vote for their favorite photograph, recreation, and pair in a people’s choice award.
“We are thrilled to announce another exciting collaboration between two local non-profit organizations.” says Amy Wehrman, Academy Manager. “Our upcoming art exhibit features a side-by-side theme of black and white photographs re-interpreted into colorful works of art. The exhibit showcases subject matter through the lenses of local photographers and the skillful hands of our local artisans.”
Lifelong Learning is a non-profit offering continuing education for mature adults. Its teacher volunteers hold over two dozen classes during two semesters every year. Class subjects include history, philosophy, art, gardening, architecture, and more. Students can attend an unlimited number of classes each semester for a low flat fee
The exhibit will be held at Art League Academy, located at 106 Cordillo Parkway. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
